Solara at Waters Edge

Welcome to the Lake

Where lake life comes naturally.

At Solara at Waters Edge, we believe the best summers are not measured by busy schedules or endless activities. They are measured by quiet mornings on the deck, afternoons on the water, evenings around the fire, and the people you share them with.

Set on approximately 100 acres along the northern shore of Lake Wabamun, Solara offers half a mile of shoreline, beautifully treed seasonal sites, forested trails, and the space to slow down and enjoy what matters most.

Our greatest amenity is not something we built.
It is the lake.

Our History

Our Story

For more than 70 years, this property was home to a Ukrainian Catholic children’s camp, lovingly cared for by the Ukrainian Eparchy.

Known by many as God’s Playground, it was a place where thousands of children discovered faith, friendship, adventure, and a lifelong connection to Lake Wabamun.

That history of community, belonging, and shared experiences is a legacy we are honoured to carry forward.

Today, Solara is being thoughtfully reimagined as a private waterfront seasonal RV resort and future lakeside event destination.

While the buildings and purpose have evolved, the heart of the property remains the same.

A place where people gather.
Where memories are made.
Where generations return.

Light, Reflection and Renewal

Why the Name Solara

We chose the name Solara because it reflects everything this property represents. The warmth of the sun on your shoulders, the glow of evenings around the fire, and the peace that comes with watching the sunrise over the lake.

For us, Solara represents renewal. An opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and recharge.

Light

Reflection

Renewal

The name Wabamun is derived from a Cree word often translated as mirror. In that reflection, we see what Solara is meant to be: a place where people slow down, reconnect, and remember what matters most.

The Solara Experience

Life at Solara

Life here is not about rushing from one activity to the next. It is about enjoying the simple pleasures that make summers unforgettable.

Quiet Mornings

Coffee on the deck, birds in the trees, and calm water stretching toward the horizon.

Lake Days

Boating, paddleboarding, swimming, fishing, or simply enjoying the shoreline.

Time Together

Meals with family, conversations with neighbours, and visits from friends and grandchildren.

Evenings Outside

A campfire beneath the stars, quiet conversation, and another summer day coming to a close.

A Different Kind of Resort

A Community Built Around Lake Life

Solara is not designed to be a traditional campground filled with organized activities and attractions.

Instead, we are creating a peaceful waterfront community for people who appreciate beautiful surroundings, meaningful connections, and the relaxed pace of lake life.

Whether you are spending the summer at the lake, enjoying quiet weekends away, entertaining family and friends, or welcoming grandchildren for a visit, Solara offers a setting where everyone can enjoy the experience at their own pace.

Our Philosophy

Beautiful surroundings encourage people to slow down.

Respect creates stronger communities.

Nature should remain the main attraction.

Quality is found in thoughtful details.

The best neighbours often become lasting friends.

The best lake communities are built one great neighbour at a time.
